Planning a trip? Keep your debit card secure while traveling with these tips:

  • Notify Us Before You Travel – To prevent transaction declines, call us at 478-452-4531 or send a secure message through Online Banking messages. Travel notifications cannot be set up in the app.
  • Use Mobile Wallet for Payments – Adding your debit card to a mobile wallet (such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay) provides an extra layer of security by using tokenized transactions, reducing the risk of fraud.
  • Monitor Your Transactions – Enable real-time alerts in Card Management to track purchases while you’re away.
  • Have a Backup Payment Method – Carry an extra card or some cash in case of unexpected issues.

Taking these precautions will help ensure a smooth and secure banking experience while you travel!

  • Card Skimming: Fraudsters install hidden card readers on ATMs or gas pumps to steal information.
    • Tip: Use bank-affiliated ATMs and inspect card slots before inserting your card.
  • Phishing Emails & Texts: Scammers impersonate banks to trick you into providing sensitive details.
    • Tip: Exchange Bank will never ask for your PIN or passwords.
  • Fake Fraud Alerts: Scammers pose as bank representatives, asking you to "confirm" transactions.
    • Tip: Always verify suspicious messages by calling the bank directly.

Online shopping is convenient, but it comes with risks. Protect your debit card and personal information with these simple steps:

  • Use a Mobile Wallet – Instead of entering your card details, add your debit card to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay for a more secure, tokenized payment method.
  • Shop on Secure Websites – Only enter payment details on sites with "https://" in the URL and a padlock icon in the address bar.
  • Enable Transaction Alerts – Turn on Card Management alerts in your Exchange Bank Online or Mobile Banking App to monitor purchases in real-time.
  • Avoid Public Wi-Fi for Purchases – Public networks can be unsafe. Use mobile data or a VPN for added protection.
  • Verify Merchants & Deals – Be cautious of too-good-to-be-true prices and check reviews before making a purchase.
  • Review Your Statements Regularly – Check your account frequently for unauthorized transactions. If something looks suspicious, turn off your card in Card Management and call us at 478-452-4531.

Taking these precautions helps keep your online shopping secure and your money protected!
